The FTP User Manager tool allows you to create additional FTP login accounts with restricted access. The accounts you create can be limited to allow access to only certain folders within your site. Since these FTP users get their own username and password, they will not have access to your Control Center, or any area outside the folders you specify. For example, if you have a webmaster working on your site, you may wish to limit them to accessing only the $domain-www folder and below. This tool lets you do exactly that. In addition, each user you create can have a distinct disk quota of their own.

When installed the tool will appear in the "Site Management" section of your Control Center. The fee to use FTP User Manager is $2/month, and it can be added using the "Add Package" in your "Upgrade Center" group (see below)

Using the FTP User Manager

When entering the FTP User Manager interface, you will see a screen displaying your current FTP users at left and a link to create new ones at right:

Right side of screen

At lower left is a link to detailed documentation in PDF format. Click this at any time for the tool's manual:

When adding a new user you need to fill out a few details including the username and password, the quota you wish to assign (optional) and the home directory for this user. When the FTP user logs in they will be placed in the home directory you specified. The links marked 'Help' are actually hover buttons that will display popup assistance for any one of the fields should you require help:

To edit an existing user, simply click on the username on the left side of the screen.
