FrontPage 2002 is now fully supported on our servers. It is backwards-compatible with FrontPage 2000.

NOTE: the new server extensions no longer work with FrontPage 98, and that product is no longer supported.

Troubleshooting FrontPage Publishing

Installing Support for FrontPage

Before publishing with FrontPage you must install the extensions. This is done right from your Control Center (see picture)

When you first enter this screen, you will need to simply click the "Install FrontPage" button and wait 10 minutes for the server to run the install scripts. The next time you come into this screen, it will have 2 different choices - Verify FrontPage Installation (which simply checks that FP is running properly on your domain) and Remove FrontPage Extensions.

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT PASSWORDS
When you install the FP extensions for the very first time, they will utilize the Control Center password currently in force. If you later change your Control Center password, it will NOT affect the FrontPage password. Make sure your password is set the way you like it *before* installing the FrontPage extensions!

Publishing with FrontPage

You will need 3 pieces of information when publishing with FrontPage: your domain name or IP address, your username, and your password.

In FrontPage, when you click "Publish" you will be prompted for the name of the server to publish to - enter either "yourdomain.com" or your IP address. You will then be asked for the username and password for your domain. The publishing continues automatically!

NOTE: if you just started with us, chances are you will need to publish to the IP address until the domain registration/modifications are completed.

Troubleshooting FrontPage Publishing

If your page won't publish properly, here is a checklist to see if you missed something important. Review this before contacting support!

Are the FrontPage extensions installed properly? Did you wait at least 10 minutes after clicking "Install"?
If you are using the domain name to publish, are you sure it is pointing to our servers? Has the name been fully registered & propagated yet? (If not, publish using the IP address)
Did you put anything in front of the server name in the "Publish to:" box? You should *not* use "ftp://" in front of the address as the site will not publish correctly.
Did you name your first page for your site with a valid file name? If not, you will see the "Future Home of..." page when accessing your site. This does not mean your site did not publish! Rename your very first page to one of the acceptable file names (see below). Remember, it's case-sensitive!

ACCEPTABLE INDEX FILE NAMES (in order of precedence):
default.htm
index.phtml
index.pht
index.cgi
index.shtml
index.htm
index.html
index.php
index.php3
